INVESTITURE OF THE NEW STUDENTS: A RECAP OF THE CEREMONY
8th October, 2023.
The occasion featured a pontifical Mass and the vesting of students with school uniform which marked their formal beginning of basic education as well as integrating them into the college community other wise known as the Heerey Family.
In his usual concisely elaborate homilies, the manager/principal, Fr Peter Nwadimkpa, etymologically explained the meaning of 'investiture' to the students. According to him, the term is derived from Latin word "investíre" which means, "to clothe."
In the same vain, he contextualized the concept in the English sense of the term to mean the act of parents investing their hard earned money on their children in order to make them fruitful for themselves and for the society at large. He continued by admonishing the new students to seize every opportunity that the school provides for the discovery and development of their talents.
In attendance was the School Chaplain and Coordinator of the Hostel, Fr. Chukwuezi Arinze, VP Admin Mrs Ijioma Okolo and VP Acad Mrs Onwuka Adaobi. Worthy of mention were the college of formators comprising of the School Secretary, the Director of Formation, the Peace Corps Officers/Hostel Masters, the students' teacher and other staff of the college.
In a special way, we thank all the parents/guardians of the new students for their support and cooperation for the success of this occasion. We can not forget to thank the PTA executive and the entire parents/guardians of our school for always supporting and responding to and attending our programs. May God bless you all.
We appreciate the manager/management for incorporating this event into the college programs. We thank the Director of Formation, Master Emmanuel Kosisochukwu Onyema for organizing and steering the affairs of the event.
May God continue to bless the good efforts in the training and formation of our students for a better future.
