AHTC FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAMME
About yesterday evening, we had for the first time in recent time, the AHTC Foreign Language Program which was attended by the School Manager and members of staff living in the hostel.
The program featured a wide range of displays by students in Chinese, German and French and each group tried to outdo the other. Among the activities for yesternight was the Spelling Bee in foreign languages where French, German and Chinese students tried out their knowledge of the vocabulary in their respective language of study. And as usual there were winners after tough four rounds of brainstorming, trials and efforts.
The results:
Spelling Bee, French Category | Egbunugha Chidalu, JSS1
Spelling Bee, Chinese Category | Okoye Anthony, SS3
Spelling Bee, German Category | Ugwu Emmanuel & Charles Onyelusi, Both in SS3
We also organized a writing contest to improve the writing skills of our students and we had a former winner winning once again in landslide victory. The topic was: A Boarding School Experience That Changed My Life. This highly contested essay was won by Osita David | SS2.
We thank and appreciate the school manager for the provision of programs like this in the hostel which would surely accentuate the work our teachers do in the classroom.
Special thanks to the Chinese teacher, Ms Levi Mercy and her German colleague, Enwerem Sylvester for a job well done. We truly felt their impact.
As well as the college of formators especially Mr Moses Akpera for the work done behind the scene to ensure the success of yesternight's event.
Thanks to Chimezie Nwankwo, Ezeh Somto, Stanley Nnoyelu and Odidika Emmanuel, all in SS3 for the roles they played at various points.
The program was indeed a great success and all glory is for God.
Perseverance; conquers!
